It’s not often we get matching grants—and my, do our partners need one right now!
In my last letter, I [Brian] shared the challenges our ministry has faced this year. Funds have become so tight that we’ve often had to deny urgent needs from our native partners. Other times, I’ve sponsored those needs myself.
Limited in resources, we’ve cut back wherever possible to keep funding our missionaries. We usually avoid sharing these details to encourage you for your impact—but the truth is, this season has been tough.
For months, I’ve prayed for a $10,000 donation to loosen up funds to reach more for Jesus. Some days, emboldened in faith, I even dared to pray for $20,000. That’s pocket change for some ministries, but for us, it would represent thousands of lives touched—and a major relief.
The nerve-wracking thing about prayer…you never know when God will answer—until He does!
God’s surprising, exact-to-the-dollar answer came after last month’s letter. A dear couple read the update, felt moved with compassion, and invited Anne and me to their home to discuss a special gift—
a $10,000 match donation for Message Ministries & Missions’ twentieth anniversary!
They’ve taken mission trips with us and have supported the ministry for years. Now, they saw an opportunity for even greater impact, followed through, and became God’s heaven-sent answers to our focused prayers! We honor and thank both God and them for this beautiful answer.
$20,000 for 20 Years of Message Ministries
So, that’s our goal—$20,000 for 20 years of sharing Jesus worldwide. What an incredible opportunity to win the lost together.

- sponsor rescued children at Aneela’s House of Hope Children’s Home, providing ex-slave kids with everything they need for a healthy, thriving, Jesus-centered childhood;
- provide kids with Christian education at village schools and study centers in the 10/40 Window, igniting youth for Jesus in regions with scarce access to the good news;
- evangelize and disciple children at VBS events, outreaches, kids ministries, and feeding centers;
and much more.
We’ll also reserve many funds to meet the urgent needs of native missionaries and their communities as they arise, like
- those disaster victims who need supplies to survive and Jesus’s salvation to thrive,
- those village Christians who need a basic building for their worship gatherings to guard them from the rain and heat,
- that native pastor who needs to fund his child’s education,
- those brickyard slaves who need clean water for their bodies and good news for their souls,
- that slave family who needs freedom and a new start,
- and many more.
If we can raise this $20,000, the funds will share Jesus’s love with countless people in unreached cultures—often in surprising ways. We can’t wait to see what God accomplishes through our teamwork!

Reaching the 4-14 Window Before It’s Too Late
It’s easy to discount children’s ministry. “Why children, and why now?” “Isn’t reaching adults more urgent?” The 4-14 Window demands we reconsider—fast.
The 4-14 Window represents the easiest window of time to win anyone to Jesus for life—ages four to fourteen. The facts are paradigm-shifting.
The vast majority of lifelong Christians receive Jesus during these years—63%-83% (National Association of Evangelicals, International Bible Society). Once this crucial season passes, ministry becomes drastically more difficult.
According to George Barna in Transforming Children into Spiritual Champions,
- by 13, kids’ chances of receiving Jesus decrease by one half.
- By 18, their opportunity all but disappears, with a mere 6% probability of ever turning to Christ.
- As one Barna study broadly generalized, “What you believe by the time you are 13 is what you will die believing.” [Of course, Jesus saves all ages—this is a real pattern, not a rule.]
And according to missiologist Luis Bush, about 7 in 10 children in the 4-14 Window live in unreached cultures with scarce access to the good news.
That means most people in the world’s most receptive age group live exiled from God’s truth.
They need Jesus’s hope—but their best window of opportunity is rapidly slipping away. The needs are overwhelming. The timeline is urgent. But the harvest is beautiful—if we’ll reap it.
Maybe that’s why an older D.L. Moody reflected, “If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to reaching children.”
Even Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
Child evangelism often transforms cultures where decades of adult evangelism fail. Then, as Christians, it’s our job to win unreached kids as early as possible, and keep them won through lifelong discipleship. Will we do it?
With your help, our partners are transforming villages through child evangelism throughout the 10/40 Window. The work isn’t easy, but the result will be “a great multitude that no one [can] count, from every nation, tribe, people and language” (Revelation 7:9 NIV). These brief June updates reveal the harvest we can reap together through the 20 Years of Hope match fund.
The Plight of India’s A. District
Could you imagine growing up in a region where only 2 in every 1,000 people profess faith in Jesus?
That’s the shocking reality for children living in A. district, India.
According to Joshua Project, about 5.6 million people live there, only about 12,000 of whom believe in Jesus—a mere 0.2% of the population.
If you sat all of A.’s Christians in Raymond James Stadium, about 80% of the seats would remain empty.
These God-beloved people urgently need a move of the Holy Spirit, but generations of prejudice have closed their hearts to Jesus’s truth.
Through much struggle, our partners have uncovered one of God’s best strategies for the region—win the kids. The parents will come next.
Pastor S.’s Giant VBS Victory March
June’s harvest in A. district began with Pastor S., who is winning unreached kids to Jesus through vacation Bible school outreaches.
Recently, he hosted a VBS for 75 children with the theme, “Jesus is My True Friend.” Many young lives were changed forever as they encountered Jesus’s kindness and truth in power—some for the first time.
And S. is far from finished—he has huge plans for child evangelism this summer, with three more VBS gatherings nearby, each costing only about $80 to host.
$80 to reach 75 kids—can you believe it? It’s incredible what a touch of generosity can accomplish among the unreached. Pray with us that God will shift destinies with Jesus’s good news of salvation!
Pastor P: Homework Helps, Snacks, and Salvation
June’s harvest of A. district continued with Pastor P. and his wife, who are winning rural kids to Jesus through tutoring ministry.
Every weekday, 48 students visit P.’s Christian student center for homework assistance, arts and crafts, nutrition, and Jesus’s good news expressed through songs, gospel stories, and prayer. The fruit has been beautiful.
Recently, Pastor P. hosted a VBS for the students beyond their regular student activities. 26 of the 48 children chose to join in the fun, encountering Jesus’s truth through drama, arts, games, and Bible stories.
If anyone in the world needs those Bible stories, it’s those precious kids. Some of these little ones belong to untouchable families. They’ve grown up feeling rejected and shamed by the world. Now with your help, they’re learning to live transformed by Jesus’s love demonstrated on the cross.
Slowly but surely, parents are coming around, too. Blessed by P.’s servant heart, many parents have visited P’s gospel outreaches, and some have even come to Jesus! The work is sometimes grueling—but sure enough, through servants like S. and P., Jesus is shifting A. district’s spiritual destiny, one soul at a time.
