February 2025: God’s Cleansing for India’s Lost Multitudes at Maha Kumbh

Almost 400 million. That’s how many Indians plunged into the Ganges’ sewage-infested waters in February hoping to cleanse their sins. Every twelve years, India’s Hindu masses crowd the historic river to wash their shame and stretch for salvation. It’s called Kumbh Mela: Festival of the Sacred Pitcher. And this year marked the Maha Kumbh—the twelfth Kumbh Mela which hails only every 144 years. This Hindu pilgrimage extends forty-five days at the nexus of the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. But it hasn’t purified India’s conscience. It’s left millions begging God for a better cure for shame.

Many of our native partners labor for Christ near the Kumbh Mela festival. In this newsletter, we share their stories of transformation among India’s unreached masses. Together, let’s pray God grants them divine appointments to share Jesus’s cleansing from sin and guilt. God has prepared a way of freedom for India—not in the Ganges, but in the good news!

Pastor Kesh. Wins Five Villages to Christ

Pastor Kesh. longs to follow Jesus no matter the cost. No stranger to persecution, he’s been beaten and run out of villages for preaching the gospel. Yet he, his wife, and their three children continue steadfastly serving the Lord and winning souls to Jesus. By God’s grace, nothing will stop his vision to evangelize his fellow Indians.

Recently, Pastor Kesh. hosted three-day vacation Bible schools in five villages despite the ever-ominous threat of persecution. By God’s divine protection, none stood against him—and the outreaches reaped a beautiful harvest. Droves of children and adults surrendered to Jesus as Lord; a clear sign of hope and optimism amid the intense anti-Christian persecution in Uttar Pradesh. Soon, Pastor Kesh. will plant house churches to lead these new disciples into thriving, lifelong devotion to Jesus.

We’ll share more about Pastor Kesh.’s family in the future. Meanwhile, please lift them in prayer, asking God to protect them, provide their every need, and shepherd their new disciples. We’re grateful to report someone has already sponsored Kesh.’s ministry! Want to help transform unreached Indian lives? Sh.’s Healing Harvest | Motorcycle Sponsored

Sh. is another devoted servant of Christ in India. He has dedicated his life to establishing Christian communities ignited by prayer and worship. He also labors diligently to teach God’s Word and directly disciple those under his care.

The Holy Spirit often moves supernaturally as the incense of prayer, teaching, and worship arises in Sh.’s communities. Recently, a Hindu family came to the meeting to receive prayer in Jesus’s name, and God miraculously healed one of the women. Awed by God’s healing power, her whole family opened their hearts and received new life in Jesus!

Sh. treks far and wide to reach his fellow Indians and could accomplish much more with a motorcycle. Sh.’s leader, Pastor Sub., wanted to buy him a Honda Shine for about $1275 with a long saddle seat to carry three passengers. Praise God—one of our partners has already met this need! Thanks so much for your generosity.

Prayers are essential—but God wants us to do more. Once God shows the path, we simply need to act. Together, let’s help Pastor Sh. lead countless Indians to freedom in Jesus Christ. You can sponsor his ministry for $120/month at the button below.

Pondering the 400 Million at Kumbh Mela

We end this newsletter with a few questions. How many in the waters of Kumbh Mela had never heard Jesus’s name? How many would never bathe in the Ganges if they had met a faithful native missionary? And how many native missionaries would flood India if Western Christians turned their eyes to unreached India? The truth is blaring. Every Indian should get the chance to hear Jesus’s good news—but tragically, almost one billion of them still have never heard the way of salvation. Are you ready to send the message that could transform their lives forever? Let’s partner in the Indian harvest. With God’s help, we can work towards an India where everyone has heard about the breathtaking hope of Jesus.
