February 2026: Secret Memos of Persecuted Pastors

Following Jesus can cost your life—especially in persecuted nations like Myanmar and Laos.
There, our partners have been tracked, spied upon, imprisoned, and endangered for allegiance to Jesus.
That’s why they never exchange a word, pixel, or dollar through the internet. To stay safe, they only share reports face-to-face in clandestine meetings away from spying eyes.
Last month, we received secret memos from those meetings—personal reports from eight native missionaries in dangerous Myanmar and Laos.
Like secret agents for God, each pastor numbered their milestones, outlined key testimonies, and shared prayer needs for their divine assignment.
We’ll read two of those memos in this newsletter, but first, enjoy this summary of God’s work through these daring servants of Jesus. Their stories will blow you away.
God’s Harvest by the Numbers: Myanmar & Laos
In 2025, these eight pastors preached Jesus’s hope to at least 2,023 people in 40 villages. In the process, at least
- 274 unreached villagers received Jesus,
- 62 received supernatural healing,
- 27 experienced deliverance from demons,
- 5 new churches were planted, and
- 1,117 enjoyed regular discipleship in the church plants.
In all, about 1 out of every 8 [7.5] villagers they evangelized decided to follow Jesus—and that in some of the world’s most dangerous places to become a Christian.
In modern crusade evangelism, often more than 90% of “converts” never return to church. But among these 274 new believers, 149 (54.4%) have already publicly pledged allegiance to Jesus through baptism, choosing unashamed obedience to God over personal safety. Their miraculous stories read like pages from the book of Acts. Here, we‘ll share some of those stories from your perspective to help you understand their struggle and triumph.
Jesus Still Saves, Heals, and Delivers
Imagine a moment in each of these real villagers’ shoes.
- You’ve suffered as a paralytic for many bitter years. Our partner prays, and suddenly Jesus looses your body. Now, you can walk again with a stride in your step! Thanks to Jesus, you got your life back!
- You’ve yearned to have a child for so long, but can’t seem to get free from the bitter road of barrenness. A native missionary prays, and Jesus touches your womb. Soon, you encounter the surprise of your lifetime—you’re finally pregnant! You can’t wait to meet the child you’ve dreamed about for so long.
- You’re deaf and long to finally hear your family’s voices. Our partner prays, and to your astonishment, sounds begin to fill your ears. Amazed at God’s power, you and your entire family of four turn to Jesus. Now, you can finally hear your loved ones—and the call of Jesus.
- You and your spouse have endured a living nightmare, watching your little boy suffer severe demonic affliction. You hear about Jesus’s power to deliver, and know you need to seek His help—but feel terrified of opposition from village leaders. Determined to liberate your boy, you secretly leave your village at midnight to visit our partner for prayer. He ministers in Jesus’s authority, the demons leave your child in Jesus’s name, and you and your whole family happily surrender to Jesus.
Friends, this is what happens when we partner in God’s harvest. When Jesus’s kingdom comes near, deaf ears open, paralytics walk, the barren give birth, demons flee, and most importantly, sinners receive the Savior.

Secret Memo #1: Pastor S.
Now, let’s explore two missionary memos. The first comes from Pastor S., a dedicated church planter and leader of leaders in an undisclosed nation. He wrote:
Pastor S. is a valiant, God-loving gospel-warrior. To overcome gospel resistance, he first builds relationships with village leaders, then gathers neighbors for soccer and a meal. As his team befriends neighbors, they’re often welcomed into homes, where they can openly share the gospel with whole families. Once two or three families receive Jesus, they begin house meetings for discipleship.
These new believers know the persecution that awaits them, but choose to advance God’s kingdom anyway, bolstered by Jesus’s promises and the Holy Spirit’s presence.
Pastor S’s new church plants need our prayers. Please pray for him, his family, his team, his flock, and for wisdom to train stable leaders in the church plants.
Secret Memo #2: Pastor J.
Next, we hear from Pastor J., a faithful church planter and evangelist boldly proclaiming Jesus in five villages in an undisclosed nation. Let’s celebrate God’s work through this faithful servant. He wrote:
Pastor J. has faced severe persecution in his race to win his country for Christ. Police have frequently warned him to stop preaching. They even revoked his ID card, making it difficult to travel and perform important tasks like banking, obtaining healthcare, or making certain purchases. None of that has slowed his fiery witness. He knows the call God gave Him, and nothing will deter him from the task:
As you go, proclaim this message: “The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” (Matthew 10:7–8)
Brothers and sisters, let‘s keep our hands to the plow of God’s plan to disciple every culture. Jesus commanded us to go or send (Matthew 28:19). Let’s not miss the call!
