June 2023: Our Family Mission to Peru

It’s amazing how time flies when you’re serving the Lord. I just returned from a mission to Peru with three generations of my family, and all I can say is—I never imagined this era would arrive so quickly. What a blessing to hit the mission field with my grandchildren!
This powerful team included my wife Anne, daughter Katie, son-in-law Mike, and three grandsons, Noah (6), Elijah (4), and Caleb (1). We also welcomed Aly, a university student who was a great addition to our team
We had a very productive visit. With the help of Peruvian friends, we constructed a prefab home in two days—complete with electric wiring, door locks, and bunk beds for the kids. The recipient—a single mother of four—was overwhelmed with gratitude for her new home. We witnessed grateful tears in her eyes several times as she watched us work. I will never forget that precious time working together for the Lord and the benefit of this family.
We also ministered at several events during our trip. Mike and Katie hosted a one-night marriage conference at Pastor Gilberto and Doris’s church, Dulce Refugio. We blessed three children’s ministries with help from our grandsons (Noah helped with the gospel skit, “Operation”). Mike and Aly led a one-night youth conference. And we finished the family mission by assisting with Pastor Fabian’s baptism and worship service at a creek in Pachacutec. It was a glorious time, and much fruit was borne for the Kingdom of God! After the family left, I stayed for an extra week to minister, meet with leaders, and make some improvements to the mission base.
Please pray for another Peru team from Suncoast Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Florida. They’ll visit from July 11-19 to build four prefab homes. We’re grateful for their return to Peru and their desire to meet some essential needs there. Also, please pray for the dedicated Peruvian leaders we partner with throughout the year.
Relief Ministry in War-torn Myanmar
Thank you for sharing God’s hope with the people of war-torn Myanmar. Recently, I mentioned an opportunity to provide 55-pound bags of rice for families misplaced by the war. Our donors sent $2000, and MM partner Pastor N. distributed one hundred rice bags to needy families, sharing God’s hope along the way. They’re so thankful for your help—you’ve refreshed their hope that God will see them through this calamity! Please continue to pray for Pastor N. and the families he is ministering to.
Your Impact Around the World
Finally, thank you for standing with Message Ministries. By God’s grace and your help, MM sends monthly support to 35 indigenous missionaries, pastors, evangelists, ministry workers, and ministries in the 10/40 Window and Peru, including the Laos Children’s Home and the orphanages in India and Africa. On top of that, you support Jim Randall’s fruitful mission to the 10/40 Window. We praise God that many trust in Jesus each year because of these partners’ hard work. May God bless you as we work together to fulfill God’s Great Commission. As William Carey said, let’s continue to “expect great things from God; attempt great things for God.”
