C.T. Studd said, “Only one life, ’twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ shall last. ” Many pray, “God, help me to give all to answer your call!” But few actually accomplish God’s calling on their lives.
In this Missions Moment, Brian Mark Weller tells the challenging story of one who did fulfill God’s call: pioneer missionary C.T. Studd (1860-1931). God called Studd to give up a life of fame and fortune to preach the gospel in China, India, and Africa. Studd boldly surrendered, saying, “If Jesus Christ be God and died for me, then no sacrifice can be too great for me to make for Him.” Studd’s life of radical sacrifice calls us also to lay down our lives for God’s call. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6:20, “You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
