Praise Report: How You Gave Hope to Burma’s Fleeing Families

We want to thank you for offering Jesus’s lasting hope to families fleeing the terror of war in Burma. By God’s grace, you’ve brought hope and relief in their hour of desperation!

Recently, we reported about a desperate need in Burma:

  • Burmese families are fleeing to the jungles to escape the terror of war.
  • Most fear for their lives, and many have had their homes destroyed.
  • These precious people needed food, medicine, and Jesus’s lasting hope to stay afloat in harrowing conditions.

You, our partners, stepped up to the plate and left an indelible impact on these precious Burmese lives.

Our partner, David S. (FTS Ministries), gave the report:

How You’ve Touched Burma’s Fleeing Families (A letter from our Partner)

“Your support is helping many people and sending hope. A small piece of bread means a lot in a time of famine. May the Lord bless you richly in return.

Getting food was difficult. We also had to offer relief quietly and carefully [to avoid exposing the community]. But with your relief funds, we were able to help Pastor P.’s father, relatives, and some neighbors.

We also provided much-needed medications to the community. Many of the elderly are suffering from illnesses with no access to hospitals or doctors. For them, medicine seemed even more important than food. [In private, David sent us pictures of the elderly attached to IVs—lying on benches receiving their medication. You’ve genuinely saved lives, once again.]

To use the funds wisely, Pastor P. did not travel to ___ to purchase food and medicine. Instead, he appointed someone nearby to buy and distribute relief packages to relatives and neighbors.

Instead of giving food relief packages to each of Pastor P’s father’s neighbors, they decided to cook the food in one place and gather the refugee families to eat together, which worked very well.

Some returned to their village and reported that many houses had been destroyed. Others remained in the jungle, fearing the army would return to their home villages.

They are sharing food with others who have escaped to the jungle. Please pray for them, as they are living in very primitive ways.

I will keep you updated as I get information. Please keep on praying!”
