On Saturday, May 8th, Pastor Jose Amaya delivered Spanish Bibles to new Christians in flood-devastated Cajamarquilla, Peru. The new Christians beamed with joy as they received the Bibles and quickly opened them up to read. Many of these new disciples of Christ have lost everything but the clothes on their backs, and seem thrilled to have found hope in Jesus Christ.
Last Monday, Pastor Jose sent MM a list of 10 new decisions for Christ in Cajamarquilla. He returned Saturday to minister the Word and deliver the Bibles. The new disciples have expressed hunger for God’s Word and a desire for MM to continue ministry in their area. MM plans to continue discipling, evangelizing and providing practical needs for the people of Cajamarquilla in the coming months.
Earlier in 2017, mudslides ravaged Peru, killing at least 106 people, destroying almost 157,000 homes, and leading over 800 towns to declare a state of emergency. Floods also swept through the district of Cajamarquilla, burying entire homes and vehicles in mud. Message Ministries has come alongside the people of Cajamarquilla to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and provide practical needs such as food, water and toiletries.
